Medicare & Secondary Insurances

At the start of each new year, Medicare patients are subject to paying a relatively small Medicare deductible.

For 2023, the Medicare Part B deductible is $226.

This means Medicare will not pay any amount towards the first $226 of medical bills you incur.

If you have a secondary insurance like AARP or Blue Cross Blue Shield, it is possible that they will pay this deductible for you. If you don't have a secondary insurance, it will be your responsibility to fully pay for the first $226 worth of medical bills you incur.

You can usually reach your secondary insurance by looking on the back of your insurance card for the Customer/Member Services phone number.

Will I have a bill?

If you have a secondary insurance: Call to check whether your secondary insurance plan covers 1.) the Medicare Part B Deductible, and 2.) Outpatient Physical Therapy in an office setting.

If you do not have a secondary insurance, OR your secondary insurance plan does not cover the Medicare Deductible: You can expect to pay about $25 for your first visit to Physical Therapy Plus, and $15 for each subsequent visit. *If you have not met your 2023 Medicare deductible yet, expect to pay around $100-$140 for your first visit and around $80-$90 for subsequent visits with us, until you have reached the $226 Medicare deductible.

For 2023, the Medicare Part B deductible is $226.
